Yes, I sang a McLachlan song at a full register below the one in which it was recorded. On a crappy mic. In my bedroom. DON'T JUDGE ME *bawl*

*points at [livejournal.com profile] gloomchen* IT'S TOTALLY HER FAULT! *hide*

You could probably find me there, sounding awful too. Same username as here, even. I haven't dared try anything really out of my range yet- Thorogood, Godsmack, Eagles, Dobie Gray. If I can get to the point where i'm better than abjectly awful, i might experiment with Cyndi Lauper or something goofy as fuck like that. Katrina and the Waves, I'm lookin' at you. Nena Koerner, you and your 99 balloons too.

Awesome. I'll look you up.

...you mean you haven't tossed a cover of "Yesterday" out there?! It's only the most recorded song, like, ever. I've only been a member for 3 hours and I have one. :-P

I was trying to avoid it. I'll probably have to do one now, damn it. But you can't make me do "Imagine" for love or money.

I want some Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. I'd do "Red Right Hand" in a heartbeat- the Cure stuff they have is in the wrong key for me not to sound like complete and total shit.

It was a little pitchy dawg and I'm not feelin the song choice, but it was aiiiiight.

Just kidding. Just channeling a little Randy Jackson American Idol style.

I really liked it.

I just happened across this, as a friend of a friend actually, and I liked it a lot. I'm a sucker for male voices :p those that can sing anyway ;)

Yet you liked this wholesale slaughter of a perfectly good song?

I kid, I kid. Thank you for your kindness.

If I can subject the general populace to my throaty treatments of songs best left for fairer voices -- an act that I'm pretty sure borders on domestic terrorism -- then you can let us hear your own vocal stylings. You know you want to.

That was a good track!!!

Now that you are back in the area, we have to get

We'll never know if you don't try. Go forth, and make with the karaoke contributions.

I don't think you are ready to have that sort of crime upon your soul. Believe me, having all of the horrors of a diseased mind being made flesh and wreaking havock upon an unsuspecting world is still better than the foul noise that comes from my mouth. It is a noise that would make the Banshee flee in terror.

If I can listen to that one guy sing "My Way" by Limp Bizkit and read 1000000 comments calling it "great", then I am absolutely positive that you have nothing to worry about. Besides, karaoke is not about singing; it's about making an ass of yourself in front of strangers. Case in point: listen to my cover of "Loser" by Beck. THAT is karaoke. The rest is just attention whoring -- an act to which I readily confess.

i likey :) you sing real well :) now do they have smashing pumpkins up there, if so i'm so there(although my singing voice isn't that well, something about being tone deaf ? lol )

I wish they did, but they don't. They also don't have Pearl Jam, Harvey Danger, Creed, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Squirrel Nut Zippers, or more than one Metallica song. In many ways this site is lacking, but in many ways it is not. Whoever came up with this had a brilliant marketing concept.
